This course explores contemporary sexuality theories from queer perspectives that destabilize assumptions about relationships among sex, gender, sexual desire, race, ethnicity, class, nationality, and religion and influence new thinking about sexual identities, critiques, and movements. In addition to theory,  the course includes literature and film to further our understanding of the central issues. Ideally, students will have already taken 1 theory course, for example, Introduction to Literary Theory (ENGL 3125) or Feminist Theory (WGS 4000).
