Tues 12:30 PM – 3:20 PM
In this workshop, the instructor will encourage students to develop ongoing projects and to launch new ones. Our approach will be exploratory, guided by texts chosen by the instructor and members of the class, one book from each: a poetry collection from which a reader could learn virtually everything necessary for a poet, a book that contains multitudes. The instructor’s choice is Blacks by Gwendolyn Brooks (Third World Press, 1987). We will take turns assigning prompts, but each poet in the class will be free to continue their projects-in-progress.
